Today we the first Baptism Party at Hills of Grace! We had it at the pool at the hotel where we meet. What a wonderful, joyous day with our church family!! These are the 6 that were baptized, some had asked Jesus into their lives in the past and were never baptized, others asked Him into their lives today. Be praying for these young people as they continue to grow in their relationships with the Lord!
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)
We had a party to celebrate what Christ has already done in their lives and how baptism is just a symbol of us burying our sinful self and being raised to walk in a new life through Christ's amazing blood of His sacrifice of death on the cross. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and swimming. (I didn't swim, I wouldn't dare get into a bathing suit in front of other people at this stage of pregnancy... it's just scary people... scary!)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
And keep praying, there are several others (many adults) who are still pondering over the idea of having a new life in Christ. God is working and it is sooooo cool to watch Him change hearts and lives. He is to be Praised!

AWESOMENESS!!! Thanks for sharing and encouraging so many, including those of us who are already saved!

ReplyDeleteWhat a splendid testimony of God at work in Rapid City! Praise God for these young people who desire to drink the water that Jesus gives...the water that becomes a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:14
