This post will be a little bit random. My mind is scatterbrained from lack of sleep and being super busy. Paul and Josiah have been waking up frequently though out the nights lately and so I've been running on about 5 hours of sleep per night. Do kids really ever sleep all night every night? I do believe that those who say their kids do MUST be lying. ha ha! No, I'm kidding. Just my kids don't apparently. Sleep is overrated.... (I type that as I yawn and have a momentary fantasy about laying my head on my soft pillow, closing my eyes, and sleeping for 3 hours completely uninterrupted.) But, this little guy is worth getting up for in the middle of the night. I can't resist those big blue eyes and his sweet smile!!
- Weighs 21.8 lbs
- Has 6 pearly white teeth!
- He's a crawling maniac. He is destroyer of all things in his reach. In 20 minutes he completely overturned and strung around every toy in the living room (see pictures below). It was quite impressive really.
- Loves to eat whatever we eat. He's not choking too bad anymore, so now we're giving him mostly cut up pieces of whatever we're eating. No more baby food for him, he wants the real thing! He still nurses about every 3 hours also.
- New non-baby foods he has tried: avocados, carrots, potatoes, green beans, peas, chicken, beans, crackers, oatmeal, butternut squash soup... he'll pretty much eat anything we give him.
- Plays so well on the floor with his brother, as long as something isn't taken from him.
- He may, just may have inherited the quick temper gene from my dad and brothers. He can go from content to screaming mad in 2 seconds flat if something is not done to his liking.
- He's a good napper most days, taking 2 naps and goes down for the night around 8-8:30. Nights are not so good at the moment between teething and nose/chest congestion.
- Baths are his favorite!! When I turn the water on to fill the bath he starts squealing with excitement and crawling as fast as he can to the bathroom. He'll start kicking and wiggling around like a wild man while I am pulling his clothes off. Once in the bath he splashes constantly, laughs with Josiah, and doesn't mind a bit to get water in his face. When we take him out he is screaming mad!
- He loves to snuggle his face in my neck.
- He is pulling up on everything and sometimes stands alone! He can't be old enough to walk yet? Time is going by too fast.

We're not big into Halloween. No scary decorations or trick or treating or costumes for us this year, but we will give out candy to the neighbor kids! And pumpkin carving is a little dangerous for a 3 year old to do, so we painted them and used pipe cleaners and things to make faces. He and Justin had fun doing it!

Pretty frightening, huh?!

The reason we have been so busy is because of a huge blessing that the Lord gave us quite unexpectedly. Our church has been meeting in a hotel conference room for the past year and our children's area especially we have begun to grow out of. So Justin randomly had an idea to go talk to the people at the mall to see if in the future it would be possible for us to lease a space. Long story short, they were thrilled to work with us, gave us an amazingly cheap price for the amount of space and said lets move forward with it as soon as possible! For the last month we've been working on getting the space fixed up and useable for how we need it. God has been blessing us over and over again with the financial ability to do the work, buy items we need and the right people who have done a lot of work for free. Our church family is very excited about this new place to gather for worship and the ability to use the location as an outreach opportunity for our city. We are excited and grateful for how the Lord has gone before us and prepared the way. We are humbled and in awe of Him. More on this later!

I enjoyed this "Random" post very much and always love seeing new pictures of everyone!!
ReplyDeleteThose are some GREAT pictures! I love the one of Justin holding Paul, his faial expression is so cute! You are scaring me with the whole 2nd child not sleeping bit...
ReplyDeleteI prefer to think of the 'quick temper' gene as the 'passionate' gene. Peter/John - don't you agree?
ReplyDeleteWell, come Thanksgiving, you will get to see all sorts of passion coming from Paul. haha!
