4th of July Weekend

We had such a fun weekend!  Well, my mom and I had a fun weekend.  My dad and Justin worked their hearts out and are probably still sore.  My parents flew in for 3 days and my dad's goal was to help Justin build a lower patio.  They worked so hard!! They had to build the frame, dig out sections of grass, fill in areas with dirt, level everything, tamp it all down with this huge contraption, level, measure, level, haul dirt, sand, and gravel, then lay the bricks.  Wow, I did not realize how much was involved in patio making!  The finished patio is amazing and we are so thankful they came to help!  We will enjoy it (and already are) so much the rest of the summer! Thank you Mom and Dad for your generosity of time, sweat, and money to come here and help. 

While the guys worked, we cooked, played with the boys, went to Storybook Island- a huge kid play area, took naps with the kids, and just enjoyed some downtime.  

Sunday and Monday evenings and nights we got to experience the Valley fireworks!  We live in what's known as the Valley, just outside of the city limits.  Therefore, the entire town of Rapid City comes out here to pop fireworks.  It was pretty impressive the amount of money people spend on fireworks.  Josiah didn't like the loud noises and spent most of the time with his hands over his ears. ha!

 A rare family picture.  There's no one around to take our picture, I'm so glad to have this one, even though it's far from a good picture.  It captures us right where we are. 

Thank you Mom and Dad for coming to visit.  We LOVED having you here and are glad you were able to come when it was warm!  Thank you for playing with the boys, they sure love you. :)
