Hills of Grace Kick-Off!

This wonderful group of people flew up here all the way from Quitman, Texas, from our old church at First Baptist there, to help us out with our kick-off. They worked hard and got to enjoy a little cooler weather while they were here. They were so helpful to us, getting things done in a matter of a few days that would have taken us weeks! They passed out about 600 door hangers, did surveys, made contacts with several people who came on Sunday, helped organize our trailer, FBC Quitman bought us pack n' plays and all of the craft supplies that we needed and we got them all organized in rolling carts, they prayed, they encouraged us, helped us set up for Sunday, greeted people at the door on Sunday morning, helped us out with our kids worship time on Sunday, and so much more.  It was wonderful seeing familiar faces and getting to serve the Lord alongside friends.  We were so glad they were able to be a part of our Kick-Off Sunday.  Thank you First Baptist Quitman for making it possible for them to come. They were a blessing to us in so many ways.

On Saturday we had planned a Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition, but unfortunately it rained nearly the whole day.  But Sunday the skies cleared as we geared up for our Kick-Off.  Since it was the big day for NFL football season starting, we decided to have a big football theme.  We invited everyone to wear their favorite football jersey and then had tailgate parties, one at our house and one and Joe & Bethany's, after the worship service.  We had 59 total people there at church! An amazing turn out!  Many came back who had visited before at our Preview services, and we had 15 new faces there as well! 2 people even indicated on their info cards that they wanted to know more about becoming a follower of Christ, Praise the Lord!!! Justin and I are going to follow up with them this week.  Pray for them as they are obviously seeking out for Truth in their life.

Many of the people who came to the service also came for the parties afterward. We had about 25 people in our house. It was wild and crazy with kids running everywhere, but it was beautiful seeing how many people the Lord has brought into our paths these past few months.  We had lots of laughter and good conversation while watching the football games.

Continue to pray for those who have come that do not know Christ, that He would give us opportunities to share more about His love as we follow up with them on a more personal level.  Praise Him for the work He is doing! Praise Him for the nice hotel conference facility that we are able to meet in. Praise Him for people who are already wanting to help serve.

Christ-alone deserves all the glory and honor and praises for getting us to this point and for the people that came. It is amazing beyond words seeing His hand working and moving and drawing people to Himself. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Here are some pictures of the past few days....

Josiah is wearing Amber's boots, he thought they were pretty awesome

Setting up on Saturday night... Clint putting connect cards and football Dr. Peppers bottles under the chairs.
Ben taught Josiah how to "fist bump"! It's the cutest thing to see him do it. The picture is blurry because he was running fast to give Ben the "bump"
Meeting and greeting those arriving.... and eating too
We had 5 little kids, & this is their special area.

Here's Bethany leading the children's worship time. They had a good time!

  1. Praise God! I am still disappointed that I could not be a part of the team but I know God will lead me to SD in His time.

John has talked about nothing else since his return. He is so proud of the work you and Justin have done in His name. 59 people! Bro.James said he never had that many people attend a service when he was a church planter in Canada. To God be the Glory!

    Sending you an email.

    Love,
