We've had a lot of art going on at our house lately. There are paint brushes and painted pictures everywhere! Josiah has really enjoyed getting messy and painting pictures of buses, cars, trees, and the ABC's. He is very interested in learning his letters so we are working on it. We paint a picture about a different letter, learn the sound, and draw things that start with the letter. It is fascinating how quick he picks up on things. He can recognize most of the letters and can tell me what the letter sound is. I'm blown away! Now when we're out running around town he will point to letters he sees on signs and say,
"Wook mommy, der's the 'R', it says rrrrrrrr"
"And wook, a 'S', sssssssssnake!!"

And now he can identify all of the colors. He was getting them all mixed up. I'd ask him what color something was and he'd say, "Purple! Purple! Purple!" (he loves saying purple), then I'd say No, that's not purple, what else could it be? "Gween, it's gween!". Nope, not green, it's red! Then he'd say, "Oh ya, I sayed red!" Haha! :)

We also broke out the chalk, now that it's finally warmed up. In the picture the guys were drawing a magnificent train track with a tunnel. Justin looks like he's in serious thought on how to draw it. Notice, Justin has a glove on only one hand. This is because he detests how chalk feels in his hand. So, being a nice daddy, he's drawing with the chalk anyway, just sportin' the Michael Jackson look with the one hand glove. ha ha!

We are so glad summer is here and the sun is shining and it stays light until 8:30-9:00 at night. We are enjoying our evenings outdoors and hanging out with our neighbors.

wow i'm so proud of josiah for learning his letters so fast! he's on his way to making into kindergarden
