We thought spring was just around the corner. Two weekends ago it was 65 degrees and I had just bough 160 onions to plant and a few others things to get started. Two day later it started snowing and it hasn't warmed up since then! We desperately needed the moisture though. In 2 days we got 24 inches of snow! Our driveway had a snow drift up to my hips! Justin's back was out (his sacroiliac joint was dislocated again) during the first winter storm so I shoveled and shoveled. About 4 hours of shoveling in two days. I was sore for several days!
Justin's parents drove up for a visit for a week and it was cold and snowy the whole time they were here. We had a wonderful time with them, even though we had a touch of cabin fever, the kids loved spending the one-on-one time with their Memo and Papaw.
Here we are playing outside in the beautiful spring weather pre-winter storm #1.
And then it started snowing and snowing and we got crazy inside. The boys were "fixing" my hair all pretty with Leah's bows.
We need to make a second garden to grow food just for Leah. She is a BIG eater. She likes to feed herself, most of the food makes it in or around her mouth. :)
And the snow piling up with my plants eagerly waiting by the window to go outside. They are still alive 2 weeks later, it's a miracle!
After the snow stopped we played outside and the kids ate a lot of snow.
There was a 4 foot drift in the backyard.
Yes, Paul has purple snow pants on. I borrowed them from our friends because he completely grew out of his and they were high-waters! And you can't find any clearance snow gear this time of year because it SHOULD almost be SUMMER weather!
Memo & Papaw finally arrived and the kids loved playing in the snow with them!
The night before the left the snow was falling again and it was gorgeous, it was like we were in a snow globe.
Thank you for coming to visit! Thank you for helping with the laundry, and watching the kids for us and entertaining the kids and taking time off of work and everything else you have responsibilities for to come see us. We felt special and loved and we are so grateful for you both!
Hopefully these April snow showers will bring May flowers and green grass soon! I'm ready to dig in the dirt, get hot and sweaty, and be outside. Winter has gone on far too long! Lord bring the sunshine and warm weather to South Dakota, please!

I REALLY got a great laugh at your Easter post!!!! Loved it!! Your kids are so cute!
