What have we been doing?

What have we been doing since we arrived in Rapid City? I'll give you a little run down...

- Drove up to the mountains, saw the ski slopes, drove through Deadwood, the old western town where Wild Bill was killed. Cool town, can't wait to go back in the summer.
- Shoveling snow off of our driveway
- Getting our cars very dirty
- Drinking lots of hot cocoa

Ok ok, I know, enough with the goofy stuff. This is why I really am writing this post...

- Justin has been busy, meeting with the church planting strategist and missionary for our area to hash out detail stuff and they've been giving him stuff to work on. So he's been busy doing that.
- As well as the above, he's been applying for nearly every job opening he can find. He's filled out about 50 applications it seems like. Pray that we continue to be patient, and wait on the Lord to open up the right job for him. Pray that we continue to trust that the Lord is going to provide for us.
- We have been meeting with our core team at Hills of Grace Fellowship on a weekly basis, and random dinners at our house, and other stuff (like Justin getting to go skiing with Joe and Bethany...LUCKY!! sorry, I'm a little envious) to get to know them better.

This is Joe and Bethany our core team. Joe leads our worship on Saturday nights (that's when we meet). They are a sweet couple with a heart for our community and reaching people for Christ. Pray for them too! Oh, and they're newlyweds, only been married 9 months! Too cute :)

- We have been meeting on Saturday nights at an elementary school gym for our worship together and opening of God's word.

Here are some pictures from last Saturday night

- We are going prayer walking with our core team- Joe, Bethany, Jennifer L., and Justin and I on Thursday evening. Please pray with us on Thursday- for Rapid City, specifically Rapid Valley- the suburb that we live in. Pray that God would open hearts, open opportunities for us to meet people, for the Holy Spirit to begin working in the lives of our neighbors, for boldness for us, for a contagious moving of God's spirit to begin sweeping through Rapid Valley as people come to know Him!

- Pray for these people too, Mike and Theresa. Mike got us set up with a checking account at our bank. We were able to talk with him for a long time. He and his wife and their daughter live near us, do not have a church home, he grew up as a Mormon, and he seemed interested in why we were here and what we're doing. Pray that God would work in his life and his wife and that we would have an opportunity again to talk with him and build a relationship with them.

- Pray for our next door neighbors...found out from another neighbor that they are separating.

I firmly believe in the power of prayer and praying for people by name. So please pray with us!
